Yes To says 'yes' to airless dispensers for hair and skin care products

All-plastic pump helps Yes To introduce Yes to Carrots facial moisturizer. Yes to Tomatoes and Yes to Cucumbers will come next.

Hp 19415 Yes To Carrots Mega Pumps
San Francisco-based Yes To, Inc., describes itself as “a U.S. 501(c)3 non-profit organization--on a mission to make a difference in people's lives by providing under-served communities with the resources to develop and sustain an organic food source and access to healthy nutrition.”

The company partnered with Mega Pumps, a manufacturer of airless dispensers, to launch Yes to Carrots Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15, a consumer-inspired line of hair and skin products that combines organic fruits and vegetables with a special mineral elixir derived from the Dead Sea.

The product aims to defend the skin against the sun's UVA/UVB rays while soothing and hydrating the face. It is 97.3% natural and is petroleum-, SLS-, and Paraben-free.

The product comes in Mega Pumps' 1.7 fl-oz (50-mL) bottle that delivers precise and consistent dosing. The all-plastic, self-priming systems allow for dispensing in any position, leaving minimal residue behind. That enables consumers to use almost all of the contents and reduce waste, while also protecting the product from outside pollutants and extending shelf life. Using mainly injection-molded polypropylene and polyethylene, even for the spring, the pumps use no metal parts.

A clear overcap comes with a matte finish, notes Alex Silberstein, Mega Pumps' regional sales manager. “The matte finish comes out directly from the mold, eliminating an expensive decoration process. Moreover, the matte mold finish limits our impact on the environment by avoiding an extra decoration process.”

The clear container includes a simple, elegant label. According to Yes To's Web site, there are four logos on the packaging: (1) A small jar signifying the number of months you can use the product after opening. (2) The recycle logo. (3) The Cruelty-Free logo, indicating that Yes To does not test any products on animals. (4) Yes To Seed Fund logo, indicating a portion of all sales is donated to the Yes To Seed Fund.

“The product is filled and labeled by automated filling equipment by our four Israel and U.S. contract manufacturers,” says Mark Kindree, Yes To's “Protector of the Carrots” (operations).

Kindree notes, “We selected Mega Pumps because of the high-quality pump engine that contains no metal parts. The pump requires very little priming on first-time use, unlike [products from] many of the competitors.'”
