Multivac taps Frank Barel to head new value-added materials business unit

Multivac, Inc. today formally announced the launch of a new business unit to deliver a range of high-end, value-added packaging films to its customers.

The debut offerings are DuPont Teijin's Mylar® COOK and BAKE films, sold exclusively through Multivac as thermoformable packaging materials. The company has appointed packaging industry veteran Frank Barel to head the new business unit as national sales manager. He reports to Jan Erik Kuhlmann, President/CEO, Multivac, Inc., effective immediately.

“Product marketers across an array of industry sectors are continually searching for ways to differentiate their products and brands and create more value for their customers,” says Kuhlmann. “Our customers in the food business, for example, are quickly realizing the potential of our Mylar® COOK and BAKE packaging materials to significantly expand the categories in which they compete and to substantially impact their growth and profitability. This new business unit is dedicated to delivering similar game-changing products to all of our customers as we partner with suppliers like DuPont around the world. With his extensive and accomplished background in the packaging materials industry, Frank Barel is uniquely qualified to lead this exciting new enterprise for us. We are pleased to welcome him to the Multivac team.”

Mr. Barel comes to Multivac from Printpack, Inc. where he served as a global market development manager.
