Massman Companies, a worldwide expert in packaging machinery announces today the acquisition of ADCO, a privately held company based in Sanger, CA.

ADCO was founded in 1958 by John and Babe Tanney on the southern edge of Sanger, California. From those early days, ADCO has stuck to their mission to help their customers grow by solving and supporting their packaging equipment challenges. The Tanney children, Kate, Colleen, and Maureen, have built on this mission and their parents’ success, growing the organization into one of the premier cartoner companies on the market today. ADCO’s mission, vison, and longevity make the company a strong cultural fit with Massman. We applaud ADCO’s CEO, Kate King, for her lifelong embrace of the company’s employees and customers and for her contributions to the automated packaging industry.

The partnership with ADCO adds cartoning to Massman’s impressive product line in primary and secondary packaging and is in direct alignment with Massman’s strategy to deliver automation from carton to pallet. With ADCO, Massman now has one of the broadest product lines of tray formers, end load cartoners, top load cartoners, sleevers, shrink wrappers, bundlers, case packers, bottle handling equipment, fillers and palletizers in the industry. As a provider of connected equipment, Massman can now provide customers with more world-class packaging automation equipment.

“ADCO and Massman share common company family values focused on customer success, employee wellness, and their commitment to providing the Best Running Machine in the Factory,” said Jeff Hohn, President and CEO of Massman Companies. “We are excited to welcome ADCO employees to Massman Companies and look forward to being able to provide more solutions to our customers with this partnership.”

Kate King, CEO of ADCO, stated, “We are excited to be joining Massman Companies. ADCO and Massman have had a long successful business relationship that will allow us to accelerate growth rapidly through this partnership. Massman’s commitment to our brand, site, and our employees made this a natural fit for ADCO’s next chapter.”

Massman and ADCO look forward to sharing more details with its valued customers, partners, and suppliers.
