A recent New Atlas article discussed a new study at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine that found psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy is more effective than antidepressants when it comes to treating major depressive disorder (MDD), a condition that affects over 300 million people worldwide. The study, published in JAMA Psychiatry, is the first peer-reviewed data showing efficacy for MDD.
