A recent EurekAlert! article discussed an innovative new smartwatch that tracks drug levels in the body. The device, developed by engineers at UCLA Samueli School of Engineering and Stanford School of Medicine, analyzes chemicals in the wearer’s sweat to personalize drug dosage. Since most medications are prescribed with a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach, but each person’s body is different.
“We wanted to create a wearable technology that can track the profile of medication inside the body continuously and non-invasively,” said a leader of the study and computer engineer at UCLA.
