Packaging machinery manufacturer Deitz Co. introduces the Pharmafill(TM) CS1-C cotton inserter. Replacing and upgrading the company's Pharmafill CS1 cotton inserting machine, the new Pharmafill CS1-C features a stepper motor drive system that eliminates use of clutch brakes, gear motors, and oil, along with their associated upkeep requirements. With the new, maintenance-free approach, downtime for monitoring and replacing mechanical wear parts is virtually eliminated while cotton insertion is smooth, clean, and silent.

Quieting operation by approximately 20 decibels, the new cotton inserter is ideal for low noise environments such as in contract packaging, and pharmaceutical and nutritional product manufacturing facilities. Operated via a new, touch-screen HMI, the new Pharmafill CS1-C automatically separates natural or synthetic coil from a continuous roll into individual pieces, shapes them into an inverted U, and inserts them into the center of solid dosage bottles with 99.99% accuracy at speeds up to 180 pieces per minute.

The automated cotton inserter is designed and manufactured at the company's New Jersey headquarters. Legacy Pharmafill CS1 units in operation may be upgraded to the new design with the latest PLC and HMI at the New Jersey facility.
