Weber Packaging Solutions’ Model 5500LF liner-free label printer/applicator is powered by NuLabel’s adhesive activation technology. The specially coated, dry adhesive label material is activated just before the label is applied to the product.

The NuLabel-formulated water-based product contains no solids and evaporates almost immediately, eliminating the glue buildup that is common with linerless systems today. Using existing tamp-blow application, the label is dispensed, cut to size, and then activated using NuLabel’s proprietary fluid.

The Model 5500LF uses 13.75-in. O.D. rolls of label material, reducing roll changeovers by 50% and resulting in more production uptime. Without the need for a traditional pressure-sensitive liner, the pre-coated roll can hold twice the amount of labels, resulting in less downtime and zero landfill waste.

The Model 5500LF is a robust system designed to operate 24/7. It features the Zebra ZE-500 print engine that can operate in thermal-transfer or direct thermal mode. When used as direct thermal, the need for a ribbon is eliminated, further increasing machine uptime.

Using the tamp-blow method to apply the labels, the Model 5500LF also features browser-based monitoring, numerous I/Os for connection to external devices, one-to-one media consumption (for thermal-transfer mode), plus durable construction to withstand harsh industrial environments.
