Networks on the rise, packagers say (sidebar)

Survey methodology

Nearly half of the respondents (47%) to this Packaging World survey were from the food and beverage industries. Just over 15% were from the pharmaceutical/medical device industries, and the remainder was split among a number of different industries, reflecting the diverse reach of the packaging function.

In terms of company size, over half of respondents (58%) were from companies employing more than 500 people. About a quarter worked at companies employing 100 to 500 people, with only 16% working at companies employing fewer than 100 people.

Respondents indicated job duties in packaging, engineering, R&D and production.
