The state of California definitely seems to do things their own way, and administering coronavirus vaccines is no exception. A recent AXIOS article discussed Governor Newsom’s announcement that the state will “independently review” all coronavirus vaccines approved by the FDA before distribution is allowed. The decision is likely due to the fact that the federal government could release a vaccine with political motives in mind, rather than safety and efficacy.
