Based in Hamburg, Germany, Desitin Arzneimittle GMBH is a pharmaceutical firm that focuses on treating epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease. Its portfolio also includes products that address psychiatric diseases, Huntington’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Dravet Syndrome.

Recently, the mid-sized manufacturer implemented Werum’s PAS-X Track & Trace serialization and aggregation offering at its Hamburg plant. Desitin required a lean, powerful and easy-to-implement track-and-trace solution to comply with the anti-counterfeiting requirements of its various international target markets, which include all EU countries.

“We opted for Werum’s PAS-X Track & Trace as the connector between the shop floor and the serialization level because it meets all of our requirements,” says Daniel Weniger, Head of Process Engineering at Desitin Arzneimittel GmbH. “It is a proven serialization and aggregation solution that is already used successfully by many pharma and biotech manufacturers around the globe.”

Werum’s PAS-X Track & Trace is installed out of the box, ensuring a short implementation time and safeguarding future upgrades. Initially the system covers two packaging lines and will be extended later.

Werum is part of Medipak Systems, the Pharma Systems business area of the international technology group Körber.
