The easy-to-use benchtop MS-70 moisture balance is especially useful when injection molders wish to confirm moisture content of incoming resins, before filling hoppers, and to check the performance of bulk dryers. It operates on the thermogravimetric principal to calculate loss of weight on drying (LOD). This is less complex and more environmentally friendly than the Karl Fischer method. Measuring time is typically 6-10 minutes for plastic pellets. The drying temperature range is 30⁰C to 200⁰C in 1⁰C increments.
The MS-70 moisture analyzer is shipped with WinCT software for real-time graphic display of drying profile on a PC. Also included are 20 sample pans, 2 sample pan handles, tweezers and a spoon, 30 grams of sodium tartrate dihydrate for accuracy checks, a disc to program the real time graphic drying display, an RS 232C cable, an instruction manual, and a 5-year warranty. Options include a dot matrix compact printer for record keeping and a temperature calibrator for conformance to GLP, GMP and ISO practices.
Unlike costly pre-programmed library-equipped analyzers, the <$5,000 MS-70 enables injection molding companies to develop and store up to 20 measurements for recall as needed.
