PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, is honored to receive the 2018 IAEE International Excellence Award for the success of EXPO PACK Guadalajara. The award was presented by The International Association of Exhibitions and Events™ (IAEE) at IMEX Frankfurt on May 17.
The IAEE International Excellence Award recognizes an individual or organization that has made exceptional strides in creating, launching and managing an event in the exhibitions and events industry on an international scale.
EXPO PACK Guadalajara, produced by PMMI, has matured from a regional show in Western Mexico to a truly international event that welcomed nearly 16,000 attendees in 2017. EXPO PACK Guadalajara 2017 broke records for attendance, exhibitors and exhibit space in comparison to the 2015 edition. International attendees from Guatemala, Cuba, Costa Rica, Colombia, El Salvador, Honduras, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru visited 757 booths spread across 140,000 net square feet of exhibit space. International pavilions included Brazil, Canada, China, France, Italy, Spain and the United States.
“As a complement to EXPO PACK México, EXPO PACK Guadalajara has taken the mantle as the leading packaging and processing event in Latin America in the odd-numbered years,” says Jim Pittas, PMMI president and CEO. “The show exceeded our expectations in attendance, exhibitors and net square feet and this award is a testament to our continued efforts and support from our international partners, PMMI members and the industry. We are honored to accept this award.”
