Glenn Fish has been named 2017 Plastics News CFO of the Year. The award was presented at Plastics News' Financial Summit held June 7th in Chicago.
Fish is chief financial officer (CFO) and executive vice president of Tekni-Plex Inc., a globally-integrated manufacturer of packaging materials, medical compounds and tubing. During his three-year-tenure with the company, Tekni-Plex has achieved consistent year-on-year quarterly earnings growth and has completed five strategic acquisitions.
"Glenn's leadership abilities have been instrumental in helping our company achieve significant profitable growth. In addition to driving growth and synergies through acquisitions, he has helped reduce our borrowing costs and realize improvements in our management information systems. We operate six business units and have 30 manufacturing facilities located across the globe. With a business so diverse, it can be challenging to oversee the financial health of our operation if you do not have significant experience and skills to help manage a multinational company," said Paul Young, chief executive officer, Tekni-Plex.
Prior to joining Tekni-Plex, Fish served as senior vice president, chief financial officer and corporate secretary, with Portola Packaging, Inc., a global supplier of plastic closures and containers for the food industry. Before that, he spent 12 years with Alcan Packaging where he served in numerous finance, general management, and leadership roles, including vice president - finance, and vice president - strategy and business development, Food Packaging Americas.
Nominations were judged by members of Plastics News along with an independent panel of professional financial practitioners, top plastics executives and members of government or academia. Consideration was given, but not limited, to leadership, ethics, business growth, strategic transactions, challenges met and industry/civic contributions.
