The Romaco Group can look back on a tremendously successful ACHEMA 2015. With more than 800 visitors from 68 countries, this year’s booth set a new milestone. Several world firsts were presented and the Romaco Group also offered a renewed demonstration of its innovative vitality by being shortlisted for the Innovation Award 2015.

At the recent ACHEMA 2015, Romaco’s strong product portfolio and an exciting set of synergies were demonstrated on 600 square metres of floor space devoted to the Innojet, Kilian, Noack, Siebler, Promatic and Macofar brands. Visitors flocked to the Romaco Group booth on all five exhibition days and the 800 documented business contacts from 68 nations easily exceeded expectations. The majority of them came from within the European Union, though many also travelled from Asia as well as Eastern Europe. For the first time, there was also a significant rise in the number of interested visitors from North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.

End-to-end solutions for the pharmaceutical process chain
This year’s exhibit marked the debut of the complete Romaco portfolio for granulation, tableting, coating and primary and secondary packaging of pharmaceutical solids. The Romaco Group’s end-to-end strategy was clearly communicated and no one currently offers such a comprehensive range of products and solutions. “The positive reactions and the huge interest in our system solutions and line configurations are a vindication of our strategy of serving the pharmaceutical industry as a single-source supplier”, emphasised Paulo Alexandre, CEO Romaco Group. “Once again, we received confirmation that we are on the right track with “Beyond Technology”, our new business model, which unites technological expertise and a sharp customer focus in a targeted way.”

Romaco Innojet shortlisted in the Pharmaceutical Engineering category
Innojet, the newest member of the Romaco Group, celebrated its ACHEMA premiere with a very special honour. The jury of the Innovation Award 2015, comprised of industry experts and international technical journalists, selected the Romaco Innojet VARIOSCALE® as a shortlist candidate in the Pharmaceutical Engineering category. An “Innovations Tour” organised by the jury gave trade visitors a chance to see for themselves what lies behind Romaco Innojet’s claim of a coating system with “totally variable batch sizes”.

Right across the Romaco booth
The launch of “Remote Assist”, the new remote support system from Romaco Services, was an equal attention-getter. A quick introduction was offered directly at the exhibition stand when a service call was initiated on the HMI panel of the Romaco Noack 960 blister line. Visitors were invited to put on data goggles and experience the benefits of remote maintenance allied to virtual communications there and then.

Romaco blister solutions have additionally been upgraded with an integral anti-counterfeiting system in the machine’s coding station. Stamped holograms – which can be visible and/or covert – are applied to the primary blister packaging as clear proof of originality.

The Macofar MicroMaxX 18 microdosing machine was another world first to which Romaco booth visitors were treated. This innovative solution for filling sterile powders was on show in line with the new Macofar MAC 4 capping machine. The system particularly impresses with one hundred percent in-line weight control and the ability to fill sterile liquids as an option. The first sales negotiations took place while ACHEMA was still ongoing and the signature of the contracts is imminent.

While these talks were being conducted in the conference areas, which were invariably fully booked, visitors to the booth marvelled at the amazingly high production speed of Romaco Kilian’s pharmaceutical tablet presses. The supplier of tableting solutions sharpened its pharmaceutical profile last year and has successfully extended its client base.

The tests on the Romaco Innojet laboratory machines gave those present an opportunity to form their own assessment of how granulation and coating processes can profit from the innovative air flow bed technology. A Romaco Siebler strip packaging line with a FlexTrans servo-driven transfer station was one of the top crowd-pullers. Whenever the three FlexPicker robots conveyed strip packaging to the bucket chain of the Romaco Promatic cartoner at a rate of 600 items per minute, a cluster of people immediately gathered to witness the event.
