PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, announces the launch of the PACK GIVES BACK Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) organization supporting charitable causes important to PMMI Members. Approved and funded by the PMMI Board of Directors earlier this year, the foundation is now accepting member requests for matching contributions and direct charitable donations.

To mark the launch, PMMI is donating $25,000 toward the development of the Northern Virginia Science Center at Kincora in Sterling, Virginia, near PMMI’s Herndon headquarters. The center will offer interactive STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) experiences for children, families, and learners of all ages.

“Our members care deeply about their communities, and the PACK GIVES BACK Foundation gives us a dedicated way to help their generosity go further,” says Jim Pittas, president and CEO, PMMI. “Supporting the Northern Virginia Science Center puts that commitment into action. By helping young people explore science and engineering, we can encourage the curiosity that leads to future careers in industries like packaging and processing.”

The foundation offers two ways for PMMI Members to support charitable causes.

Matching contributions: The foundation can match eligible member donations, subject to program limits and approval, increasing support for the member’s chosen cause.

Direct donations: Members can recommend eligible charitable causes for foundation support without contributing themselves. Requests are subject to approval.

PMMI Members can visit packgivesbackfoundation.org for eligibility requirements, program guidelines, and information on how to request support. Individuals and organizations interested in contributing to the foundation should contact [email protected]. Learn more about the Northern Virginia Science Center at novasci.org.
