Packaging Coordinators, Inc. (PCI) is pleased to welcome Medrick Rainbow as General Manager of its Rockford, IL location. PCI operates nine facilities in Rockford, totaling over 1,000,000 square feet and employing over 1,300 highly trained associates. The sites support pharmaceutical and biotech packaging services for clinical and commercial medicines, as well as medical device, consumer healthcare and beauty products. In addition to packaging of commercial and investigational medicines, the Rockford location provides global storage and distribution services for clinical trial materials. PCI operates eleven facilities in three locations in the United States, as well as four clinical and commercial operations in the UK.
Rainbow joins PCI with an extensive pharmaceutical and healthcare operations background, most recently as Senior Director of Operations for Fresenius Kabi in the greater Chicago area. During his time at Fresenius Kabi Rainbow oversaw facility remediation and significant expansion initiatives for the facility’s operations. Prior to his employment with Fresenius Kabi, Rainbow held operational leadership positions with Hospira at various locations, and with Abbott Laboratories. Rainbow’s pharmaceutical background is complemented by extensive manufacturing leadership experience in the automotive industry. Rainbow is a graduate of East Carolina University.

PCI announced two recent facilities investments for its Rockford location. In December 2013 PCI announced groundbreaking on a new clinical Storage and Distribution facility to support global logistics of investigational medicines. The new 93,000 square foot facility is expected to open in August of this year. PCI also recently announced the expansion of its contract packaging operations, adding an additional 20,000 square feet of manufacturing space to support business growth.
