NJM Packaging’s Model 126 Trotter W pressure-sensitive labeler is dedicated to wraparound labeling of round containers and handles up to 150 cpm. With fewer moving parts and a smaller footprint, the Trotter W offers fast, easy changeovers and reliability at an affordable price point.

The stainless-steel Trotter W is ideal for pharmaceuticals that are packed in cylindrical containers, including spray cans from 1 to 8 in. (25 to 203 mm) in height and 0.5 to 4 in. (12.7 to 101 mm) in diameter standard, and to 5 in. (127 mm) in diameter optional. Suitable for contract packers, this labeler can be changed over to handle a new container size in less than 15 min with no tools required and often no change parts.

With the addition of a compatible, optional thermal-transfer printer and vision inspection system, the Trotter W can easily achieve e-pedigree serialization.
NJM designed the Trotter W with quality components, heavy-duty construction, an open frame, a raised bed conveyor and a servo-driven label dispenser for repeatable performance and low maintenance. By dedicating the system to wrap labeling of round containers, NJM maximizes the simplicity of the machine and offers a compact footprint that is 4 ft (1.2 m) wide and 10 ft (3 m) long, with or without an optional reject system.

The standard Trotter W features a friction wheel infeed that enables speeds up to 120 cpm. With the optional starwheel infeed and motorized rewind, the labeler achieves speeds up to 150 cpm. NJM can equip this labeler with a wrap drum wheel or wrap belt to handle the widest range of container sizes.

The new Trotter W combines the best of NJM’s Uni-300, the previous-generation pressure-sensitive labeler for wraparound labeling of round containers, with the Trotter, a versatile labeler that accommodates a wide range of label configurations.

An Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1400 programmable controller controls machine functions, and an Allen-Bradley Panel View Component C600 human-machine interface (HMI) offers advanced features and simple programming. With the HMI-embedded software, NJM Packaging customers can add features to the HMI simply by plugging in a laptop with no additional software necessary. The system’s standard off-the-shelf components ease maintenance and reduce the need to inventory spare parts.
