PHARMORX Security continues to deliver multi-layered brand protatection solutions under is new name COVECTRA

PHARMORX Security, a multi-layered brand protection solutions provider that offers serialization, authentication, and track and trace technology services, announces its new name, COVECTRA.

The company, whose roots were formed in pharmaceuticals, continues to serve that industry while also offering anti-counterfeiting and diversion control solutions for other industries facing similar threats to their brands. Other industries include including cosmetics, premium beverages, electronics, sporting equipment and luxury goods.

For over five years, the company has delivered world-class solutions to combat pharmaceutical counterfeiting and diversion. Its success has not been limited to the pharmaceutical industry alone, with clients in many other industries expressing the need for a multi-layered brand protection approach. The company's name change to COVECTRA is part of a larger mission to address both new and existing clients' requirements for secure and comprehensive brand protection solutions. By combining covert and overt security features printed on products and packaging materials with the AuthentiTrack£ software platform, COVECTRA provides a complete portfolio of products and services to protect and enhance a product brand.

“We've seen substantial interest from other industries that have equal or greater requirements for security than the pharma industry,” stated company president and CEO, Steve Wood. “Because our roots were in pharmaceuticals, our software products were developed for an industry with stringent requirements in terms of reliability and performance. We have provided security solutions that in some cases saved lives - now many of those same security techniques and features are protecting products and brands in other industries,” he added.

COVECTRA offers an end-to-end solution for brand protection, helping companies combat counterfeiting, diversion and drive brand loyalty programs. COVECTRA's unique technologies and services allow users to identify products down to the unit package level, offering manufacturers the ability to track their products from distributor to wholesaler, through to the retailer, and ultimately to the consumer. This ability provides traceability for manufacturers, law enforcement and other product inspectors throughout the supply chain to identify counterfeit and diverted product and detect how the product entered the supply chain. COVECTRA has also developed data analysis applications used by manufacturers and brand owners to monitor consumer purchase patterns and optimize brand promotional activity.

“One way we differentiate ourselves from other companies in this space is our comprehensive brand protection products and services. Whether it is printing serial numbers and barcodes on virtually any substrate or identifying counterfeit and diversion patterns using our AuthentiTrack£ software platform, we have core competencies across the entire brand protection solution stack,” stated Dan Walles, Director of Strategic Programs and Accounts. “At COVECTRA we place significant value on our expertise when it comes to developing multi-layered brand protection solutions, and our ability to design solutions that meet the needs of each individual product.” he added.

COVECTRA's products include security labels with overt and covert security features and serialization, authentication and trace-and-trace software applications. COVECTRA also provides professional services to assist clients with brand protection strategies, security label designs and printing and packaging material and equipment specification. With its strategic partner, MSO Group, Ltd, a manufacturer of specialty, high-quality labels and cartons, headquartered in Belfast, Ireland, COVECTRA provides products that secure the integrity of the product while enhancing the brand image.

The company will be showcasing its unique technologies under the new name on January 26 - 27 during the 2010 Anti-Counterfeiting / Brand Protection Conference to be held in New York City at the Millennium Broadway Hotel.
