Medical Device Maker Closer to Manufacturing Plant Shut Down

The facility makes specialty wire components.

A manufacturing facility that produces specialty wire components for medical devices is wrapping up their manufacturing operations at their Colorado location, The Denver Post reported.

The wires, according to the report, are used in medical devices such as vascular access equipment for cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment.

Lake Region Medical plans to shut down all operations at the facility by Sept. 30, a plan that was originally announced in September 2014.

Greatbatch, Inc. acquired Lake Region Medical for $1.73 billion last year.

All 164 full-time employees will be impacted, according to the report.
