What Your Sweat Is Saying About You

A new wearable device can use sweat to detect vital health information.

Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley are working on a wearable sensor that can record vital health information using a person's sweat.

According to the New York Times, the sensor could help, "monitor conditions like dehydration and fatigue in real time."

The information collected could help remind people to perform a task the body needs, like take a pill or drink a glass of water.

With wearable devices that already track heart rate and other vital statistics, it may seem odd that this is getting so much attention, but it really is a breakthrough. Previously, researchers have been able to show how and why the sweat changes but not measure it using a wearable sensor.
