Thin Film Electronics ASA has started delivering NFC OpenSense™ tags to lead customers for conversion and application to bottles and medical devices. The company expects to see NFC-enabled products with Thinfilm’s OpenSense technology reach market early in 2016.

The NFC OpenSense tag deliveries follow the announcement by Ypsomed, a global developer and manufacturer of injection systems for self-medication, that the company is incorporating NFC OpenSense into its YpsoMate® Smart autoinjector. Thinfilm is also a lead technology partner in Ypsomed’s efforts to incorporate intelligence across its product line. Additionally, Xerox, Thinfilm’s manufacturing scale-up partner has launched two new products featuring Thinfilm’s printed memory technology.
