The document, Initiation of Voluntary Recalls, offers advice for developing procedures including training, planning and record-keeping to limit the time a dangerous product is on the market. Since recalls can affect the entire supply chain, the FDA encourages having a procedure in place to quickly notify everyone from downstream suppliers to wholesalers and vendors.
