A recent Reuters article discussed problematic syringes that the FDA is asking healthcare providers not to use for coronavirus vaccines. The syringes and needles were manufactured by Chinese medical device maker Guangdong Haiou Medical Apparatus Co., and shipped for use with the Pfizer vaccine. However, the FDA received reports of certain needles detaching from the syringe and getting stuck in the patients’ arms. The incidents led the FDA to recommend against using two of the firms syringes until further notice.
