Caltech Researchers Develop Rapid COVID-19 Test

The low-cost diagnostic test provides analysis in less than 10 minutes.

Because COVID-19 can easily spread via asymptomatic carriers, rapid testing is crucial to ending the pandemic. A recent EurekAlert! article discussed a new COVID test that aims to do just that. The low-cost multiplexed test was developed at Caltech, and it could enable easy at-home diagnoses by analyzing small amounts of saliva or blood. The best part is that you don’t need a medical professional to administer the test, and it takes less than 10 minutes.
