Recalled Hand Sanitizer List Grows to 100+

The main culprit that tends to elude product labels is methanol.

It seems you can’t go anywhere these days without there being a hand sanitizer dispenser within reach. However, it seems not all hand sanitizers are created equally, and the FDA is doing its part to crack down on products not living up to their claims. A recent USA Today article discussed the latest in hand sanitizer warnings, noting that the rolling list of products to avoid has grown to over 100.

The FDA’s list includes 101 varieties of hand sanitizers that should be avoided, that have been recalled, and that have been recommended for recalls due to the presence of methanol, a potentially fatal ingredient. More information can be found on the FDA’s website.
