Protective Packaging Ltd: Thermal pallet covers

Help protect temperature-sensitive products from direct sunlight and temperature variations during distribution.

When high value products are transported there is not always the facility to place the goods undercover for the entire period, and many products are susceptible to damage from heat extremes and direct sunlight.
Logistics companies specializing in pharmaceutical and healthcare export services have experienced problems with temperature variations and this problem has been resolved with the introduction of Thermal Pallet Covers manufactured by Protective Packaging Ltd.

Thermal covers may be used on aircraft cargo pallets for temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products to provide short-term protection. They are valuable as a precaution if products are temporarily exposed to direct sunlight, for instance, on the apron at the airport. They protect the products from solar spikes and variations in temperature, helping to maintain quality and freshness.

The covers are manufactured in PPUV129 material which is a two-layer laminate consisting of metalized polyester and bubble polythene.

The simplicity of these protective covers means that there is little additional packaging time needed to create a secure thermal protective casing.

A flat oversized base sheet is laid on the pallet and the goods are placed on top. The top hat shaped cover is then placed over the top and the base sheet is then folded up and sealed securely. To guarantee the whole pack remains intact during transit, strapping bands are placed around the pallet to secure the goods and the cover.

Each cover is manufactured to individual specifications and there is no limitation on size or minimum order quantity.
