Despite natural isolation, the virus managed to creep its way into the population turning isolation into a liability. The virus thrived in communities with minimal sanitation, and in some cases infected over 60% of the population. Now, bush planes, boats, sleds and snowmobiles are delivering vaccines. However, just because vaccines are available, doesn’t mean people are willing to take them.
