A recent DailyMail article discussed a new advancement in diagnostics that aims to help the thousands of men affected by prostate cancer each year. A team of medics and physicians at Nottingham Trent University has developed a new blood test that can diagnose prostate cancer and determine the stage of it with 99% accuracy. Previous research showed that cancer causes changes in the immune system that can be traced in the blood. The new test identifies these alterations in the white blood cells, and categorizes the risk as either low, intermediate, or high.
