A new rapid blood test can accurately detect all known genes associated with inherited heart conditions, according to Medical News Today.
Researchers from the UK and Singapore say that the TruSight Cardio Sequencing Kit can identify 174 genes related to 17 inherited heart conditions, the news outlet reported.
Current tests on the market can only identify a small number of these genes, according to Dr. James Ware of the National Heart and Lung Institute at the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre at Imperial College London and lead researcher.
This new test, which works by analyzing the DNA in the blood samples, can identify all the mutations with 100 percent accuracy, researchers say.
