If medical device or pharmaceutical packaging is important to your business, IoPP's Packaging Learning Center will offer plenty of opportunities to learn about current trends and practices at Pack Expo Oct. 28-31 at McCormick Place in Chicago. IoPP, through its Medical Device Packaging Technical Committee and Drug & Pharmaceutical Packaging Committee, will offer four sessions in the following topic areas at the Conference at Pack Expo:
• "Product Fraud and Anti-Counterfeiting in the Medical Device and Pharmaceutical Industries." This Oct. 29 session will be presented by Karen Greene, vice president, sales & technology, Life Packaging Technology, and John Spink, associate director and assistant professor of the Anti-Counterfeiting and Product Protection Program (A-CAPPP) within the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University.
• "Packaging Materials and Patient Safety: The ISO 15378 Standard," is scheduled for Oct. 29 and will be presented by Michael Pearsall, business development director at UL DQS Inc.
• "Avoiding Packaging Nightmares with Terminally Sterilized Medical Devices, Oct. 30, will be presented by Jan Gates, principal packaging engineer, PackWise Consulting.
"Product Serialization: Preparing for 2015," Oct. 30 session, will be led by D. Bruce Cohen, owner/principal of PackTechPlus LLC.
This is the third consecutive year that IoPP's conference will be part of the Conference at Pack Expo, produced by PMMI. IoPP's 23 sessions and nearly 40 speakers will cover trends and innovation, manufacturing solutions, pharmaceutical and medical device packaging, transportation and logistics, and food product/packaging safety. The Pack Expo trade show floor, with 1,800 exhibitors, will be open Oct. 28-31. More than 46,000 attendees from 127 countries are expected to attend.
