Placon Acquires Brookdale

Leading thermoformer and injection molder, Placon, to acquire Brookdale Plastics

Placon, a leading North American plastic packaging designer and manufacturer for the food, retail and medical markets, is further reinforcing its leading position in the medical and retail markets with the acquisition of Brookdale Plastics.

Brookdale is a privately held custom thermoformer based in Plymouth, MN. Founded in 1963, Brookdale’s 74,000 square feet of space houses their state-of-the-art 3D printers, in-house tooling department, and Class 100,000 cleanroom. “Brookdale has an exceptional sales model that allows them to service the customer with great speed, innovation and quality. They have been able to lead the market in custom packaging solutions through their use of the Sales Engineers, rapid prototyping and scalable tooling systems,” said Dan Mohs, Chairman and CEO for Placon.

Mohs stated, “The acquisition will advance Placon’s leadership position in both the medical and retail industries. By combining Brookdale’s cost-effective tooling solutions with Placon’s world class matched metal, high precision tooling, we will become the first supplier of choice for custom packaging solutions in the industry. Our companies have many synergies to leverage allowing us faster response with a comprehensive array of tooling options. These capabilities will deliver more value to our customers and position us well into the future.”
