Pharma Tech Industries, one of the largest pharmaceutical contract manufacturers and packagers of powder products in the world, has hired management veteran Jacobo Capuano as its new Chief Operating Officer.
As a member of Pharma Tech’s leadership team, Mr. Capuano’s role will be multi-faceted. For one, he will be responsible for incorporating and implementing Pharma Tech’s new operational excellence sustainability program, known as “XL”. The intention of the program - whose “X” stands for cross functional teamwork and “L” stands for legacy – is to provide every employee across the organization an opportunity to engage in continuous improvement and, in doing so, perpetually build their individual skill sets.
Mr. Capuano will be based at Pharma Tech’s headquarters in Athens, Georgia, but will spend much of his time at the company’s facilities in Royston, Georgia and Union, Missouri.
Mr. Capuano comes to Pharma Tech with more than 25 years of operations and strategic supply chain experience. He has a history of providing strong leadership in the tactical execution of strategic, cross-team initiatives to deliver quality, productivity and bottom line results. Prior to joining PTI, Mr. Capuano was Director of Global Strategic Sourcing for The Clorox Company and, before that, held leadership positions at Procter & Gamble and Givaudan Flavors.
“We welcome Jacobo to our leadership team during this important period for Pharma Tech Industries,” said Chairman & CEO Tee Noland. “His leadership skills, supply chain experience, and multi-site management capabilities – including those pertaining to sustainability and scalability – will be invaluable as we focus on ensuring speed, quality and coordination of activities at all of our facilities to maintain our reputation for total customer satisfaction.”
Mr. Capuano earned his Industrial Engineering Degree from the Universidad Anahuac del Norte in Huixquilucan, Estado De Mexico, Mexico, and an MBA from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico in Mexico City.
