Over 100 Participants from Indian Pharmaceutical Industry Attended the CMO Seminar Pro-active Strategies for T&T Deployment This Week in Goa

Keeping this is mind, industry leaders Optel Vision, Tracelink & Conval Group organized a common platform for the Indian Pharmaceutical industry to understand various strategies that can be implemented for global T&T deployment. This CMO seminar held on 13th April, 2016 at Planet Hollywood Beach Resort in Goa, India saw a huge turnout of more than 100 national and international speakers & delegates.

Supported by industry stalwarts Abbott, Actavis, Apotex, Fresenius Kabi, Par Pharmaceutical, USV, Kemwell Biopharma, Domino & industry body Pharmexcil. "Creating awareness in all stakeholders of the practical issues involved in implementation of Track & trace requirements is the need of the hour" stressed Mr. S. M. Mudda, Former board member of Pharmexcil and Director Global Strategy (Technical) - Micro Labs in his keynote speech.

Mr. Shaunak J. Dave, Asian Market Director for Optel Vision well stated the objective of this conference: Care & Share. About 700,000 people die every year globally because of counterfeit medicines. This conference aimed to express our commitment to the society that we care. Industry, Technology Provides & Govt./Regulatory Agencies across the globe must work together to share their knowledge, experience and key learnings towards common objective: Patient Safety.

Daniel J. Lentsch, emphasized on a "pragmatic approach" as he explained the project execution challenges faced during Track & Trace implementation.

Further echoing, Dr. Vadlamudi Rao, President - Indian Pharmaceutical Association mentioned that "Ensuring a deep understanding on serialization is critical in implementing a fool proof system." Clearly, the key take away from the sessions was getting each stakeholder understand the project and adherence to timelines is the key challenge of implementing track & trace project in an organization. A platform for exchange of knowledge, the seminar saw attendance from engineering, project management, IT, QA & supply chain professionals from all over the industry. The one-day event featured presentation, case studies, strategic roundtable discussions and covered validation perspective on 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

Major highlight of the seminar was the interactive roundtable discussions organized by Supply Chain Wizard that covered packaging line implementation challenges & solutions, CMO serialization support strategy.

Ken Fallu, Marketing Director for Optel Vision concluded the session by stating that Optel Vision is committed to organize such educational events with industrial collaboration primarily to facilitate the understanding of the challenges involved in track & trace.
