World Wide Packaging LLC. (WWP), a leading provider of cosmetic packaging components and plastic tubes, has opened a 100,000-sq.-ft. tube manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China. The new plant is 100% wholly own by WWP USA.

Headquartered in Florham Park, NJ, WWP also has locations in California and throughout the US. The new streamlined tube manufacturing facility in China, with German-engineered machinery and robotics, will offer both small-volume, high-SKU production and high-volume large-output production, as well as delivering quick turnaround for pre-production samples and color matching in both extrusion and injection. A wide array of stock tubes and closures – as well as fully customized closures – will be manufactured in the facility’s injection molding department.

The ISO 9001 certified facility is designed for lean batch manufacturing with short lead times, with automated resin blending and material handling for optimal efficiency. Its advanced planning system (APS) permits scheduling based on machinery availability, securing guaranteed line time for customer orders.

Three high-speed, vacuum-forming extruders and one small batch tube manufacturing cell enable production of complex tube designs and sleeve construction. Sleeve decoration options include offset, silk screening and hot-stamping combinations.

WWP’s engineering staff develops renderings, designs and options in 3D, using solid works and then converting those designs to physical models that prove out design. This process ensures seamless manufacturing success before production tools are even complete, and subtracts weeks – sometimes even months – from the package design phase.

“The new plant shows WWP’s enduring commitment to high quality and exemplary customer service through constant innovation and refined manufacturing processes,” said Barry Freda, CEO of World Wide Packaging. “This includes close collaboration with manufacturers regarding design, supply chain requirements and delivery goals.”
