Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, will be at CPhI Worldwide 2014 to demonstrate how its commitment to collaborating closely with customers in the pharmaceutical industry can deliver effective and efficient innovations. The annual CPhI Worldwide exhibition this year takes place in Paris on October 7-9, and Clariant will be in Hall 5, Stand 5R77.

By understanding customer needs and expectations, Clariant’s Consumer Care Business is able to offer comprehensive and viable solutions to increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve the environmental compatibility of products. The company will present innovative, sustainable and trend-based products to support the changing needs of the pharmaceutical market.

High-purity ingredients include Polyglykol, a range of universally applicable pharmaceutical polymers suitable for a vast range of applications in the healthcare sector. Clariant’s broad portfolio features pharmaceutical polyethylene glycols (PEGs, or Macrogols), which are used as APIs (active pharmaceutical ingredients) in laxatives and as excipients for tablets, suppository masses, organ preservation, protein purification and drug delivery systems. They dissolve easily in water, and they are non-toxic and non-irritant, making them particularly versatile. Clariant offers a complete range of Macrogols with various molecular weights, all of them with high purity and supported by CEP certification and DMF.

In addition, Clariant will feature packaging solutions to support the pharmaceutical industry in maintaining drug stability and extending shelf life. Clariant Healthcare Packaging designs and manufactures controlled atmosphere packaging that helps to protect healthcare products from humidity and oxygen. Its broad portfolio includes industry-leading desiccant canisters and packets; tubes and desiccant stoppers; IDC® Integrated Desiccant Closure; ADP® Advanced Desiccant Polymer; EQ-Pak® humidity regulators; PharmaKeep®1 oxygen scavengers; Oxy-Guard® barrier bottles; and specially engineered dispensers.

In the spotlight at CPhI: Tubairless®2, an innovative airless packaging system for protecting and dispensing sensitive pharmaceutical semi-solids and creams. Tubairless helps to protect sensitive formulas from contamination because the tube’s internal pump prevents air-intake or product flow back, promoting increased product hygiene. Packaging keeps its original shape, integrity and legibility, while product waste is minimized with greater than 95% evacuation.
