At this year’s CHINA-PHARM, Romaco is presenting the entire process chain in pharmaceutical production featuring technology from Kilian, Siebler and Promatic. This emphasises the holistic expertise of engineering at Romaco’s in the areas of tablet-pressing technologies, primary and secondary packaging.
A further highlight at the Romaco stand will be the new stick pack solution XDJ50 from Pharm-Tech (Tianjin) Co. Ltd., Romaco’s partner of choice in China.
Tableting solutions from Romaco Kilian
Optimised process safety thanks to integrated and continuous camera supervision – this has impressed the pharmaceutical users of the Romaco Kilian Synthesis 500 TTH tablet press. The high-speed technology is designed for the production of core tablets (tab-in-tab) with delayed release of the active agent. Its nominal production output is 140,000 tablets per hour. This entails the press processing powdered solids inserting a core tablet which had been produced in advance. The precise positioning and the intactness of the core are constantly monitored by the camera system. Depending on the application, the Synthesis 500 TTH from Romaco Kilian can be equipped with various types of pressing tools, format sets and die tables. When designing the machine, significant importance was placed on minimal changeover times and good accessibility to the system. The simple cleaning corresponds to a reduction in downtimes. Moreover the Synthesis 500 TTH can be set up for bi-layer operations.
Primary packaging solutions from Romaco Siebler
The vertical strip packaging machine Romaco Siebler HM 1-230 is equipped with the unique QuickSeal technology. Several heaters on each sealing tool ensure top final results in the production of air-, light- and moisture-tight four-side sealed foil packs. As a result of the individual adaptation of the seal patterns and the readily reproducible sealing parameters, excellent sealing quality is achieved. The products can be fed to the sealing station in up to 16 lanes. After heat-sealing, the strips are perforated and cut to the required size. Thanks to its consistent balcony structure and cGMP-compliant overall design, the compact system ensures optimal accessibility. The modular sealing station and the sealing system with detachable format sets help to increase the speed with which product changes can be carried out. The versatile Romaco Siebler HM 1-230 achieves a maximum output of up to 3,200 tablets or 1,800 capsules a minute.
Secondary packaging solutions from Romaco Promatic
The continuous motion cartoners in the Romaco Promatic PC 4000 series offer the highest possible flexibility when it comes to the processing and feeding of different products, package inserts and types of packaging. Servo-driven feeding systems, servo-controlled pick & place solutions or a direct connection to the primary packaging technology can be realised at any time. Depending on the particular application, the Romaco Promatic PC 4000 changes flexibly from continuous into intermittent motion and is, for this reason, suitable for high-speed operation as well as for medium packaging speeds. The maximum output is up to 420 cartons per minute. The technical highlight is the positive carton opening system, whose servo-controlled carton pick-up protects the materials. The vacuum for opening the cartons and folding the booklets is provided by low-noise Venturi nozzles. All in all, the ergonomic design of the cartoner with the cGMP-compatible balcony structure meets the highest standards which exist within the pharmaceutical industry.
Stick pack solutions from Pharm-Tech (Tianjin) Co. Ltd.
For the very first time Romaco will be presenting the new stick pack solution XDJ50 from the Chinese manufacturer Pharm-Tech (Tianjin) Co. Ltd. to whom Romaco maintains a close business partnership. Pharm-Tech’s multilane stick packaging machine XDJ50 is available in multilane execution and can be equipped with various feeding systems (screw, volumetric, counting or liquid pumps) for handling powder, granulate, tablets, capsules or liquids. XDJ50 can be connected to the Romaco Promatic P 91 cartoner, in order to realise all types of stick pack solutions. Pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, healthcare and food manufacturers rely on the technology for the production of single dose applications. Importantly the requirements of the Chinese TCM markets are fully met. The Pharm-Tech (Tianjin) stick pack solution fits perfectly into the primary packaging product range of the Romaco Group.
The Romaco and Pharm-Tech (Tianjin) technologies will be on show at the CHINA-PHARM in Shenzhen (Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center) from 28 to 31 October 2014 (Hall 1, Stand Q110).
