Turkey is a strong growing market for the parenteral production of pharmaceutical products. Supported by the ministries of Health and Development, the Turkish pharmaceutical industry not only produces for the home market, but also manufactures sophisticated pharmaceutical products for the international market.
On request of local pharmaceutical companies and considering the present developments in Turkey, the Parenteral Drug Association set up the conference together with the German ma- chine manufacturer groninger. The conference themed “Production of Parenteral Pharmaceuti- cal Products” drew more than 140 visitors from Turkey and the surrounding countries.
Organizing the conference the PDA cooperated with groninger from Crailsheim, Germany. The machine building company, a specialist for filling and closing processes in the pharmaceutical industry, presented and moderated a workshop on their equipment. Led by host Dr. Wenzel Novak (PhD), Director of Research and Development, production managers, professors, general managers and professional engineers of leading pharmaceutical companies discussed how to reach perfect filling results.
In several presentations another aspect of parenteral manufacturing, the regulations and re- quirements of the European, Northern American and international authorities, were discussed. The many positive responses after the conference induced the PDA to plan another theme conference in Turkey soon.
