Purchased by Heidelberg in 2011, CSAT products include digital equipment for printing on pharmaceutical blister packages and other materials, and more recently, the Heidelberg Linoprint® L, a full color DoD inkjet printer for labels and flexible packaging materials. The agreement extends throughout Gallus, Inc.'s entire North American territory. CSAT America's inventory and administration have been completely transferred to Gallus's offices in Philadelphia, which is now fully operational and seamlessly providing support to its existing customer base.

"The agreement is a win-win-win for Heidelberg/CSAT, Gallus, and especially our customers," said Natalie Gilbert, Managing Director of CSAT America. "Our pharmaceutical customers rely on us for superior support and fast inventory shipment, and with more staff and space at Gallus, we are set to improve on an already great service record."

"Plus," added Brian Bishop, president of Gallus, Inc., "adding the Linoprint L inkjet printer to our flexo product line gives our consumer label printing customers everything they need to meet short run, long run and variable imaging labeling capabilities from one reliable source."

There are two facets to the business, distinguished by the principal product types:

1. Digital electrophotographic printers, models Heidelberg Linoprint iD and D, are primarily used for imprinting one or two colors on the back of blister packaging. Heidelberg CSAT's proprietary process provides many unique cost and production benefits to its customers, including fully digital variable imaging capabilities to satisfy current or pending "track and trace" requirements.

2. The full color inkjet DoD printer, model Heidelberg Linoprint L, is used for high quality consumer labeling and variable imaging on flexible packaging. The Linoprint L digital printing system also provides wide substrate flexibility and excellent cost efficiencies for short and medium runs. It can be used as a high quality standalone label printing system, or as a complement to a flexographic label printing process.
