“Robert has distinguished himself as the architect of our global enterprise infrastructure which has grown dramatically over the past 20 years. He has done a phenomenal job balancing the ongoing introduction of new technologies with the demand for secure and timely access to information,” Hergenroether stated.
Richard’s career spans more than 25 years in IT, supporting networks and communication technology. He began his career with Barry-Wehmiller in 1994 where he has been the chief architect of the organization’s global infrastructure, connecting more than 60 sites. “Robert prefers to think about those 60 sites in terms of the number of people at the end of them—more than 6,500 individuals across the globe who have the capability to interact,” Hergenroether commented. Richards is responsible for setting strategic technology standards, security, data communications, voice communications and insuring the smooth integration of all Barry-Wehmiller business units.
In addition to his leadership in the area of technology, Robert is well known for his commitment to Barry-Wehmiller’s people-centric leadership model. “Robert firmly believes and practices the leadership and service concepts that form the foundation of our model. He serves as a professor for Barry-Wehmiller University but, most importantly, Robert has mentored many other leaders and associates who benefit from his passion in this area,” said Hergenroether. “Through his leadership, a network of exceptional professionals all over the world work cohesively.”
