The 2013 ProMat show, which was held from January 21-24, highlighted companies from and products for the material handling, logistics and supply chain industry. The Innovation Award recognized significant innovations and advancements in the technology for these industries.
Chosen from a field of six finalists, the FOX IV TwinPrint’s innovative reinvention of the packing slip/shipping label process was awarded the Best Innovation of an Existing Product Award for its effectiveness, efficiency and waste reduction.
The FOX IV TwinPrint system puts an end to printing, folding, stuffing and applying packing slips and shipping labels by hand. The TwinPrint automates the entire process while ensuring that the shipping address label always matches the packing slip. Designed for distribution and fulfillment centers, the TwinPrint printer- applicator prints both the shipping information and a confidential packing slip onto a single label. The shipping information is printed on the label top; the packing slip is printed on the label liner. The liner is die-cut such that it remains with the label and provides a protective secure adhesive perimeter around the label.
Once applied to the carton, the packing slip information on the printed liner remains confidential and provides tamper-evident protection during shipping. The packing slip is accessed by simply tearing a zipper strip. Because both the shipping label and packing slip are printed and applied at the same time, the information is guaranteed to match thereby reducing errors and potential returns. Additionally, the TwinPrint system significantly reduces the amount of waste generated during the shipping process…an estimated 33% less waste than the traditional packing slip/shipping label process.
