New for 2011, IoPP is offering packaging professionals the utmost in value by creating a two-day Packaging & Leadership Conference. The event combines two of our most dynamic events and is designed to deliver critical information to professionals who design, manage and influence how products are packaged.

The first day (May 10) will kick off with high-level speaker presentations on the latest packaging innovations and trends, followed by an exclusive networking reception.

The evening brings our much-anticipated AmeriStar Awards Dinner, where the industry's brightest stars are honored for creating best in class packaging. Day two shifts the focus to Leadership, and begins with a look at how we can identify and nurture the industry's leaders of tomorrow. The afternoon provides a forum for IoPP members to exchange ideas and explore the future of the Institute.

For the 2011 event, we're looking for a limited number presentations on the following topics:

Packaging ROI: Presentations should emphasize routes to maximizing packaging dollars, and how to "sell" packaging's value upward to meet corporate objectives and build the brand. Case studies and/or presentations regarding best practices and processes with regard to the packaging value chain are encouraged.

Packaging and materials technology: What new materials, concepts, technologies are on the horizon and what are their potential applications? Evaluating/selecting new materials. How can new technologies/materials create opportunities for new products?

Sustainable packaging: Proposals should focus on the practical actions and economics of sustainable packaging. How are sustainable packaging initiatives integrated into business objectives? How can packagers achieve and maintain a balance between reduced materials and package integrity?

Packaging innovation and trends: How does packaging innovation deliver cost advantages, satisfy an unmet need in the marketplace or extend a brand beyond its current reach? How can packaging professionals manage innovation and achieve buy-in? How are consumer and other trends impacting packaging? What does the next generation of packaging look like on-shelf and in-use? The best presentations will show how innovation encompasses the entire value chain.
