Cereplast, Inc. a manufacturer of proprietary bio-based, sustainable plastics, today announced that it has appointed Robert Findlen as senior vice president of global sales and marketing to lead the Company's sales team.

Robert Findlen brings over 25 years of sales, marketing and management experience and has a demonstrated track record of success combined with considerable experience in the conventional plastics and bioplastics industries. He has served with top multinational plastics conglomerates in increasingly responsible executive roles, including General Electric, LNP Engineering Plastics, and most recently at Metabolix, Inc., where he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He will be responsible for overseeing a strong and seasoned team of sales executives while building and maintaining customer relationships and strategic partnerships.

"I am confident that Bob's experience in leading, managing and developing sales teams will have a strong impact on our aggressive expansion plans," said Frederic Scheer, founder, chairman and CEO of Cereplast, Inc. "Our new facility in Seymour, Indiana, will be capable of producing roughly 100 million pounds of bioplastics per year. Based on Bob's accomplishments and track record, we are confident that we will be able to meet the initial demand he is expected to generate. Bob was extremely successful at building a robust pipeline of new business at Metabolix and is a significant addition to our management team. I am excited to have him join us."

Mr. Findlen stated, "Frederic's vision and hard work is opening doors for Cereplast in 2010 and creating tremendous new opportunities. He is truly a pioneer in the bioplastics industry and understands the significance and impact of this alternative technology in the 21st Century. I look forward to working with Frederic in expanding the use of Cereplast resins across many different market segments, resulting in increased sales and growth performance for the business."
