Under the terms of the agreement, Proditec will sell Symetix products for softgel inspection and processing in Europe, Asia, and South America. At the same time, Proditec and Symetix will work together to promote and sell inspection solutions in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical markets in North America.
Symetix offers industry-leading, high-speed, broad-belt inspection systems that sort up to 1,000,000 softgels or tablets per hour, removing 100 percent of foreigners, while also removing defects based on object color, size, and shape. These inspection systems can be integrated with Symetix's Impulse™ Size Grader and PulseScrubber® continuous polisher, as well as bulk packaging equipment to comprise a continuous finishing line.
Proditec, based in Pessac (Bordeaux), France, is respected worldwide for its high-performance optical inspection systems that achieve full inspection of tablets and two-piece capsules. In addition to verifying product color, size, shape, print, engraving, and multi layers to detect and remove defects, Proditec offers systems that use near-infrared technology to validate active ingredients of tablets at production speed.
“The strengths of Symetix and Proditec are complementary on many levels. From our product lines and end-user markets to geographic coverage, this is a perfect fit,” commented Jon Donovan, Product Manager for Symetix. “Together, we offer inspection systems for tablets, softgels, and two-piece capsules that can achieve the highest throughput as well as small-volume, high-performance product verification, depending on the needs of the application.”
“Coordinating and leveraging the established sales and service channels of Symetix and Proditec creates a more complete product offering and more focused regional positions to better serve our customers around the world,” stated Christophe Riboulet, CEO of Proditec.
This sales and distribution agreement further strengthens the relationship between Symetix and Proditec, which was preceded by the minority equity investment Key made in Proditec in March 2009.
