The HDA Research Foundation (formerly the Center for Healthcare Supply Chain Research) today announces the appointment of Perry L. Fri as its Chief Operating Officer. He assumes leadership of the Foundation, the 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization of the Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA, formerly HDMA), from Karen J. Ribler, who retired at the end of September.
HDA President and CEO John M. Gray said, “I want to thank Karen Ribler for her 11 years of service to the Foundation, and welcome Perry as our new COO. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the area of industry relations and his passion for promoting supply chain education, Perry brings unique expertise into his new role at the Foundation.”
Fri will continue to serve in his current role as Executive Vice President of Industry Relations, Membership and Education for HDA. In this position he oversees the direction, supervision and development of industry initiatives that facilitate improved business processes and operational efficiencies in the pharmaceutical supply chain.
“As we settle into our new brand identity as the HDA Research Foundation, I am honored to continue the important work of our organization, and expanding our reputation as a go-to-resource for research and education on priority pharmaceutical supply chain issues,” said Fri.
Fri came to HDA in 2006 from the Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA) where he served as the Vice President of Industry Relations and Program Development. Prior to HIDA, Fri was a consultant for The Hale Group. He also was Vice President of Industry Alliances for Instill Corporation and the Director of Supply Chain Management for NWDA (now HDA).
Fri serves on the Board of Directors for Healthcare Ready, a 501(c)(3) organization established to help public and private sector stakeholders across the pharmaceutical supply chain prepare for (and maintain operations during) disasters. He holds a BA in History from the University of Maryland.
