In just a few weeks’ time, FachPack will be opening its doors to visitors in Nuremberg (Germany). From 27 to 29 September the annual trade fair will once again be the premier meeting place for the packaging industry. Mondi, the international packaging and paper Group, will be showcasing a variety of packaging paper solutions from sack kraft and speciality kraft paper to containerboard. It is promoting “fresh ideas for customers’ packaging and paper needs” while placing a special focus on printability.

Mondi’s Print Competence Centre – making your products visible, every day

One of many highlights of Mondi’s presence at this year’s fair will be its customer workshop entitled “Combining expertise in printing and paper – the Mondi R&D Print Competence Centre”. It takes place at 1.30 pm on 27 September in Nuremberg Convention Centre (NCC East, level 2, room Oslo). During the programme, Mondi’s packaging paper experts will give an insight into a variety of technical printing possibilities and services, and familiarise visitors with the company’s Print Competence Centre and its research and development activities – including a live lab show of actual tests performed there.

The aim of this state-of-the-art printing research hub, which is located at Mondi Štĕtí mill in the Czech Republic, is to achieve the best possible print result for each packaging application. It enables customers to choose the most suitable paper grades, printing methods and inks for both white and brown paper. “The work of the Print Competence Centre is especially important in view of the demanding consumer market, where attractive point-of-purchase packaging design and fine print give a competitive edge,” explains Clemens Willée, CEO Mondi Packaging Paper.

Besides the customer workshop, Mondi will be showcasing its high-class paper grades on its booth, and highlighting selected paper grades that offer especially good printability in a variety of industries:
Mondi Štĕtí’s PM7 – for paper that impresses in industrial bags and brands that stand out

Advantage Kraft White Print and Advantage Semi Extensible White Print, the two latest sack kraft grades to be produced on the cutting-edge PM7 at the Mondi Štětí mill, are celebrating their first anniversary at FachPack. These two grades combine the excellent printability of calendered machine-finished grades with the strength properties of standard sack kraft paper.

Alongside the two sack kraft paper print grades, Mondi is also bringing its PM7-produced Advantage Smooth White Gloss to the fair. The versatility and texture of this speciality kraft paper make it the first choice for paper-based packaging that best reflects a brand’s personality and presents an attractive image to shoppers. This benefits not only Mondi’s own customers but also its customers’ customers – the retail brands.
Strength and natural appearance go hand in hand

Mondi Containerboard is presenting its full-range portfolio of virgin and recycled paper grades at FachPack. Among the highlights is ProVantage KraftTop LinerX, which is made of 70% recycled fibre for high performance and strength. This grade also offers a natural appearance and high-quality printability – thanks to its virgin fibre top layer. ProVantage KraftTop LinerX is therefore the perfect choice for packing goods that call for both strength and an eye-catching appearance.

Find out more about Mondi’s paper grades and printing expertise for your packaging needs by visiting the Mondi booth (Hall 7, Booth 254) at the FachPack fair from 27 to 29 September at the Nuremberg Convention Centre. Mondi’s team of packaging paper experts look forward to welcoming you there.
