Big growth expected in Malaysian medical device industry

A 12% growth is expected this year.

According to the Association of Malaysian Medical Industries, the medical device industry is expected to grow 12% there this year, The Star reported.

"The growth will come from the organic growth of the industry as well as the companies that keep on reinvesting for more capacity," said Chairman Hitendra Joshi. " That is why the growth rate from our members’ survey is higher than the global industry rate of about 8%.”

He also added that there is a gradual shift for higher-value and higher-order medical devices in the country.
