Uhlmann Acquires Cremer Speciaalmachines, Manufacturer of Counting & Packaging Systems
Uhlmann has acquired Cremer Speciaalmachines B.V., the Dutch manufacturer and engineering specialist of counting and packaging systems. The two family-owned companies, each leaders in their respective market segments, will combine their technological, research, and market development expertise. By acquiring Cremer Speciaalmachines, Uhlmann strengthens its market position in bottle packaging systems, expanding its strategic offer to include the counting modules for which Cremer is known. For Cremer, whose core competency is the counting and separating of sensitive products for the pharmaceutical, food, consumer goods and agricultural industries, affiliation with the Uhlmann Group provides long-term stability and access to new markets.
Other highlights from Uhlmann’s machinery portfolio include:
Blister Machine for Liquid Dose Products
Uhlmann’s BLU 400 Blister Machine is specifically designed for the secondary packaging of liquid dose products such as ampoules, syringes, vials, cartridges and bottles. The BLU 400 ensures safe and gentle product handling throughout the entire packaging process. Unrivaled safety functions protect against heat, breakage, or mix-ups for even the most susceptible products. Capable of producing and filling 400 blisters per minute, the BLU 400 can operate on as many as eight lanes with a maximum forming depth of 42mm. The machine can handle ampoules, vials, cartridges, bottles up to 30mm in diameter, and syringes from 6.5 to 26mm in diameter.
Solid Dose Product Bottling Line with Integrated Tracking
Uhlmann’s new IBC 150 Bottling Line features fast, simple format changeovers, short setup times, and optimally linked stations integrated into its monoblock line architecture. Designed for small to medium-sized batches of solid dose products, the bottling line combines with Uhlmann’s Labeler L180 and end-of-line Case Packaging Center 10 for comprehensive, bottle-to-pallet packaging. The IBC 150 Bottling Line also is equipped with an end-to-end bottle tracking system to combat counterfeiting and ensure product reliability.
Measuring less than five meters in length, the line integrates bottle transport, counting modules and an automatic capping unit. It operates up to 20 percent more efficiently than a solution made up of separate components, and handles bottles ranging in diameter from 25 to 125mm. Micro-stops and ramp-up phases are eliminated, a format-free bottle transport guarantees continuous product flow, and a touchscreen HMI provides intuitive operation.
