Amcor Flexibles’ StayClean flexible overwrap was designed to eliminate packaging material components that might transfer to the product, causing an undesirable product-packaging interaction. This is especially important in pharmaceutical and medical products for individuals susceptible to contaminants, such as patients suffering from asthma and other respiratory diseases.

StayClean also seals at the same or improved speeds on customer equipment. The requirements for a clean product contact layer and one that would also seal at rapid speeds greatly restricted the types of materials and processes that could be used to produce this package. StayClean is a clean packaging material that also seals at rapid speeds.

StayClean packaging is suitable for a range of applications where both elimination of product-packaging interaction and efficient manufacturing is desirable. It is in commercial use and in testing for additional products. Ideal applications are overwraps for a range of products in blow/fill/seal (BFS) containers.

BFS vials, bottles, and/or ampules are suited for unit-dose applications of liquids for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. Unit-dose applications are typically ophthalmic products (eye drops and gels), inhalants (nebulized solutions or suspensions), and topical or orally dispensed material (gel, cream, ointment, or aqueous liquid).
