New Pill Hopes to Fight COVID-19

Merck & Co. has a new pill that allegedly cuts coronavirus hospitalizations and deaths in half.

The majority of pharmaceutical development for COVID-19 has been aimed at vaccines. If approved for emergency use, the drug, developed by Merck, will be the first oral treatment for the illness and could be a step toward eradicating the pandemic.
