Clondalkin Group company Nyco’s new low-density polyolefin sleeve makes it possible to separate shrink sleeves from PET bottles or cups by automated recycling processes.

The newly introduced material has excellent machinability, flatness, and high tensile strength. The material can be stored at room temperature, which is another distinct advantage compared with more traditional sleeve materials.

The polyolefin sleeve can be printed rotogravure, UV flexo, and UV offset. Nyco developed the sleeve in response to market demands for recyclable packaging. Improved recyclability represents a step forward. The material has a much lower density in comparison to PET, which makes the automated separation process easy, increases recyclability, and reduces waste to landfill.

Clondalkin Group company Nyco produces shrink sleeves, lidding films and foils and reel-fed material for the dairy, confectionery, pharmaceutical, and beverage markets.
